There are many people who have a tendency to blame others for their position in life. They complain, huff and puff like the three little pigs because things have not gone the way they anticipated or expected. I agree that their are situations, circumstances and events that are not under our control. Be real. we all know that Stuff happens. But we ultimately are responsible for many of the unpleasantries, downfalls and pitstops we encounter in life.
Most of our downfalls and troubles, and lack of achievement are due to the thoughts that we allow to surface and come to life through the words we speak and the actions we take. I am learning this more and more each day. It's not like I haven't heard it before; and I've certainly experienced it before. I have been one of those people who had issues with low self-esteem and a lack of self-confidence, even though I have been a Child of God since the tender age of eight. Words are so powerful. I have become better about the words I choose to speak over my life and the lives of others. Death and Life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21).
The tongue has great power. It is time for us to speak words that are uplifting. We should speak good things, good words, think good thoughts and set out to be of good courage, even in the midst of problems. Again, I have to share with you what the Word of God says about the tongue, "But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! (James 3:4-10).
I encourage you as I encourage myself, change the words that pour from your lips. Be careful and think about what you say before you say it. It can be done. It may prove difficult at first, but as the old saying goes, "Practice makes perfect."
It's all up to you. Think and speak on the fruits of the spirit: "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23). I dare you to think a new way, speak in a new tongue and watch how things will begin to turn around in your life. It's Up to You!
